Background
Marie-Rose Romain Murphy has 20 years of experience in the non-profit sector, where she has held executive senior management positions as a Program Director, a Sr. Director of Development and External Relations, a Deputy Director and an Executive Director. Through her various positions, Ms. Romain Murphy has acquired an extensive track record in strategic planning, fundraising as well as program planning and development. She directly started four programs, and helped start several more. To date, Ms. Romain Murphy has helped build the organizational capacity of a number of community-based and faith-based organizations in Greater Boston. She also raised millions of dollars in city, state, federal, private foundation, and corporate funds for local, regional and national organizations. Ms. Romain Murphy holds a BS in Journalism from Boston University, an MS in Community Economic Development from New Hampshire College (now Southern New Hampshire University), and an MBA from Babson College's Graduate School of Business.
She has also served on a number of Board of Directors and Advisory Committees including the Boston Foundation’s Food and Shelter Initiative and Respond. She is the Founder of ESPWA (Economic Stimulus Projects for Work and Action) a Haitian-led international initiative focused on building the capacity of Haitian organizations.
