Organizational and Resource Development

Challenge

The Hildebrand is a regional organization located in Massachusetts providing shelter, transitional programs and services to homeless families in Massachusetts.  They needed complementary project management and organizational development support.

Process and Solution

Romain Murphy worked with them for eight years on a wide variety of programs and acted a special projects manager.

Co-designed & implemented several projects (creation of its first website, fund development campaign, workforce development program, the development of a resource for homeless families, website renovation team management, data collection project, among others).

As Interim Program Director, Romain Murphy oversaw a multi-site program in Cambridge and Dorchester serving homeless families and their children. Her responsibilities included the management of a staff of 25 as well as the management of day-to-day operations.

Outcomes

Expanded and diversified the agency’s funding base.

Helped to successfully restructure the agency as part of a team of executive staff and consultants. It was an intense year-long process that involved restructuring the organization’s organizational structure, changing all staff’s job description, hiring new staff positions and managing the current operations while transitioning to a new contract with drastically different requirements.

Helped to secure a 10-year $50 Million contract for the agency from the State. Also developed and implemented training programs for agency staff and provided them with user-friendly tools to help them manage stringent new reporting requirements.
